When was the last time you and your family visited Malacca? Being aware, Malacca now has various new places to visit and is not limited to Bandar Hilir area.
Here, we list some of the latest places that are appropriate for the whole family. All these places are easy access no matter what type of car are you driving – SUV, MPV, 4×4 or sedan. This is based on my experience when I took my whole family to a weekend road trip holiday to Malacca. With my new Mitsubishi Outlander, it provided a super comfy condition even with 6 of my family members! (Plus luggage)
Here, we list some of the latest places that are appropriate for the whole family.
The Shore Toy Museum
Perhaps many already know about The Shore Sky Tower or The Shore Gallery, a shopping mall located near the Malacca River. Inside, there is a museum featuring more than 10,000 limited edition games collections! For those who are interested in animation and comics, do not miss the opportunity to meet your hero.
Among the interesting ones include a replica of Storm Trooper, Iron Man, and a human-made Batmobile Tumbler. Interestingly, all this is allowed to be pictured without being covered with glass!
The Shore Oceanarium
At The Shore Oceanarium, it is fun to take small children to see and learn about animals, especially marine animals. Uniquely, there is also an experience for you to visit certain places using 3D glasses.
Personally, I really love this place because it also gives visitors the opportunity to hold some kind of marine animals like starfish and feed on sea turtles.
Mamee Jonker House
Even though it has been around since 2013, there may still be many who have not yet known the existence of The Mamee Jonker House as the first concept store by Mamee Group. It has also undergone a 3-year repair process to maintain the architecture of Jonker Street.
There are 4 attractions you can visit in Mamee Jonker House:
- Mamee Cafe: Here are a variety of specialties prepared by chefs Chef-chef using Mamee Chef pulling Noodle Cakes as the base material. Do not try it!
- Mamee Merchandise: Here is a sale of exclusive merchandise and it’s definitely unique, not found anywhere else!
- Noodle Doodle: Here you can show creativity by creating a design at Mamee Chef Noodle Cup. Then ready to draw, can bring back as a souvenir.
- Lil Monster Kitchen: Do you know how Mamee Monster snacks are made? The workshop session will last for 90 minutes every Saturday and Sunday. There are only 3 slots at 11pm, 1.30 am, and 3.30 am. We must book early to join this session.
Time Machine Gallery
The next attraction in Malacca is located not far from Mamee House. Time Machine Gallery places an attractive 3D Trick Art mural exhibition including several other attractions such as Upside Down House, and Green Screen. Ideal for those who are interested in taking pictures with family. Additionally, you can use a variety of free costumes and props to enjoy the 3D experience.
Upside Down House
Indeed, more and more attractions in Malacca are conceptually ‘virtual’ and ‘indoor’ and it is indeed a lot of welcome. One is Upside Down House. These are among the earliest of its kind in Malacca. For those who have not come here, try to experience the experience there.
